The Way Home for Wolf by JRad Reads TPT

The Way Home For Wolf is a feelgood story with a powerful message. Interactive resources you can assign in your digital classroom from TPT. There is plenty of cuteness in the book too, to compliment and balance the striking illustrations. N loves little Wilf, who is adorable with his big blue eyes and bushy tale. In this activity, your KS1 class will read the statements about the book and decide whether they are true or false.

I was a bit surprised that the pack didn’t notice that our tiny wolf couldn’t keep up. That they didn’t notice him missing until it was probably way too late. I get that he is slightly annoying with his attitude, but I just can’t imagine why they would forget/lose him. Beautiful illustrations and a lovely message within the story. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. This activity challenges your class to create sentences by rearranging the words.

At first everything seems dramatic, but then something happens and I was so happy for our tiny wolf. He is getting a nice lesson that it isn’t only about him and that he should also trust in others. This book has the important messaging that everyone needs friends. And sometimes we all need a helping hand from those around us.

I ordered this book for my son Cedar during his Scholastic book fair. Cedar loves wolves so I thought he would enjoy it. We both appreciated the beautiful illustrations on every page. It is so engaging and the art is so expressive, it feels like watching a movie! The highlight is the illustrations featuring Aurora Borealis. Another bonus is the story features other animals like a narwhal, seal and arctic fox!

The Way Home for Wolf Activity Sheets

The way home for Wolf follows the story of an enthusiastic, larger than life wolf pup called Wilf. After getting lost from his pack, Wilf finds himself all alone in the artic. Finding it incredibly hard to be brave all alone, he finds himself seeking the help of all the animals in the Arctic. The artic animals all come together to get the pup back to his family. The Way Home For Wolf is such a feel-good tale of friendship for young readers. Wolf is very strong and independent, he sets a good example for young children what it means to be independent.

We love the brilliant storyline and beautiful illustrations. So we were really excited to receive The Way Home For Wolf and find out if it was as good as one of Little Mister H’s favourite books. And we weren’t disappointed because The Way Home For Wolf is a gorgeous children’s picture book. I absolutely adore books by Rachel Bright and Jim Field and this new story is no exception. As with all their books, this is a story of friendship, courage and the importance of learning and growth. The rhyming language and beautiful illustrations are wonderful as always.

Having the wolf pack just walk off not even noticing they were leaving the pup behind is unforgivable to a wolf-lover such as myself. This message of kindness and friendship is told in rhyme, with beautiful use of language. The book has a rich vocabulary which is complemented by amazing illustrations. We loved the colour and detail in these, especially depicting the scenery and landscape of the arctic setting. The Lion Inside is one of our favourite books.

Overall, a very sweet story that I will take into the classroom. The morals of accepting help and the importance of teamwork are classics for kids’ books but I enjoyed how this story told it. It would make a great story for any topic linked to those who help us.

The Way Home For Wolf is a fun book with some wonderful rhyming. It also introduces your child to some of the animals of the Arctic. Little Mister H loves pointing out the different animals. Although, he still insists that the narwhal is a whale. The Way Home for Wolf is a good read by Rachel Bright. The activities can be used throughout the week after reading the book.

Wilf is as strong and independent as a wolf cub can be. And our love of books is something that unites us all. There is nothing that we like more than snuggling down at night and reading the children their bedtime stories. So we were thrilled when we were chosen to review The Way Home For Wolf. This is the brand new book by Rachel Bright and Jim Field, the best-selling creators of The Lion Inside, The Koala Who Could and The Squirrels Who Squabbled.

A Month of Activities for The Boy Who Cried Wolf

You’ll find yourself cheering for Wilf as he makes his way home, meeting new friends along the way. My latest children's book from this months book box. Absolutely adorable, with an important message. A cute little wolf cub named Wilf, wants to lead his den to a new home. He's too young of course but has his own scary adventure. With cooperation from others, it turns out well.

He anticipates and worries about the wolf which is really cute. It has a cute wolf, some excitement and adventure, and then a sweet ending. I love the illustration style, but the story of a little wolf learning that it might be a little early to be striking out on his own just about put me to sleep. A feel-good tale of friendship set in the snowy Arctic from the creators of the bestselling, multi-award-winning The Lion Inside and The Koala Who Could. In this activity, your KS1 class will focus on adding punctuation to the sentences from the book. You can choose from the different activities we have included in this resource.

A clever and easy read with rhyming throughout, this story shows the importance of taking help when it's offered especially when you're lonely or vulnerable. The story itself took me on a emotional rollercoaster but I am super sensitive when it comes to animals in strife, especially those that look like dogs. I love the use of different animals to take you on the journey with Wilf the wolf. Bright’s use of language was so interesting and pulled me in from page one with its vocabulary and amazing alliteration. My teacher-self couldn’t help but think it would be a great one for expanding a class’ vocabulary.

The illustrations complement the writing perfectly, creating an immersive experience for the reader. It’s good to see the positive sides of wolves , and this story of a little wolf separated from his family is - at that level - both warm and accurate. The text is just a little too cute for me - perhaps it’s to do with the rhymes - but it is just a matter of taste for me... This time, it was Sabio who was reading aloud for Mom.

“The Way Home For Wilf” By Rachel Bright And Jim Field

However the wolf pup makes friends with other animals who help him find his way. In the end he does reunite with his family, so it is happy and all is well. A very cute rhyming story of a little wolf who wants to be independent, but ends up requiring help from unexpected friends. Told in a nice rhyming manner with a sweet little lesson and very intriguing illustrations. It's a fun read-aloud with good opportunities for varying voices, vocabulary at multiple levels, and just a twinge of both sadness and danger. I'm not sure it has the "staying power" of many other Rachel Bright books I've read, but perhaps my expectations were a bit too high.
